IRENIC ARTS

a space for healing through creativity

Irenic (adj.): promoting peace

A Space for Creativity and Coming Home to Yourself

When you were a child, you used to create things just for the sake of creating. Draw, paint, colour outside the lines without a second thought. And then at some point, you stopped because it wasn't “good enough”, because no one would buy it, because you told yourself that creative people were a different kind of person than you.

Maybe you've tried to come back to it. Bought the sketchbook, watched the tutorials, told yourself you'd start when you felt ready. But ready never quite comes when you're waiting to be perfect first.

This is the space where that changes.

At Irenic Arts, we come back to creativity not to make something impressive, but because it is in our nature. We come back to creating art to slow down, get a little messy, and reconnect with the parts of you that knew how to play and express yourself before anyone told you the rules.

Where my art practice and my work as a therapeutic arts facilitator live side by side.

creating art is for everyone

creating art is for everyone ~

create for your inner child

To make something just because it feels good

To express without performing

To create without an audience

To remember what it was like before art had to mean anything to anyone else

This is about coming back to creativity as play and as expression. As a way of feeling grounded and connected to what's real inside of you. Allowing art to be a way to express what words can’t.

A Peek Into The Workshops

These workshops are a Safe Space to set everything down - the to-do lists, the self-doubt, the voice that says you're not creative enough - and be with your inner self.

You’re not here to learn art techniques to create something specific. You’re here to use art as a way to slow down, check in with yourself, and reconnect with what's going on inside. To use art as mindfulness and self-reflection.

No art experience needed, as there are no expectations on outcome.

❋ Let go of perfectionism

This is a no-judgment zone. There's no right way to make something here - just your way. Leave the inner critic at the door and give yourself permission to just create.

❋ Tap into your inner child

Remember when you made things just because it was fun and we were curious? We're going back to that part of ourselves - expressing with colour and mark making.

❋ Let intuition lead

No specific instructions to follow, and no desired final product. You'll be guided to trust your instincts, follow your curiosity, and see where it takes you.

❋ Slow down and be present

Creating with your hands is a meditative practice. These workshops are intended to pull you out of your head and into creative flow.

  • “This experience allowed me to not feel so in control of things. it was quite freeing + reminded me that not everything has to be perfect and mistakes aren’t mistakes they lead to different paths. thank you Victoria, for this experience. it was truly magical.”

    —Brittany G.

  • "This was really a one of a kind experience. It was really special to spend the last 2 hours, tapping into our inner child - and just letting go of any expectation to be perfect. Amazing and magical experience."

    —Maddy C.

  • "I feel so regulated and in my body after this experience. It was very therapeutic fuelling my inner child. Don't let the dislike of art stop you from coming to this experience because you leave with more than a picture. I will absolutely come again."

    —@krystalapointe.realestate

  • "A beautifully safe space to feel all of your emotions. You can feel the healing happening in the moment. Grateful to have been welcomed into a space filled with positivity and inclusivity."

    —Courtney A.

  • "This experience felt so raw. the emotions that came through during this process surprised me (in a good way). Victoria has such a bright, calm, and comfortable energy to her which made it feel safe to get out of my mind and focus on the movement of art. Through Victoria's guidance, I was able to be intentional and expressive! thank you soooo much!"
